Video & Connectivity
No — PROTEUS-UHD is HDMI 2.1 only, on both the input and the output. It does not natively accept SDI or DisplayPort, and it does not output SDI or an MPEG-encoded network stream. Customers needing SDI on either end typically add an external converter — a Blackmagic Design Micro Converter (SDI-to-HDMI or HDMI-to-SDI) ahead of or after the unit works well and is what our customers commonly use.
No to both. PROTEUS-UHD does not scale video — output resolution matches the input resolution — and it does not support HDMI sources with HDCP.
Yes. The unit is fully controllable over Ethernet (UDP) or RS-232/USB using a documented ASCII command protocol (our Software Communication Specification), so the overlay can be updated dynamically with no manual operation required. The full command reference, checksum, and reply format are in the SCS document, and Ethernet setup specifically is covered in the User Manual.
Not currently. Time/date can be synchronized via SNTP, GPS, or IRIG-B, or set directly by command. PTP support is not available today.
Standalone Operation & Setup
Only for initial setup. Once your overlay is configured and synced to the unit, PROTEUS-UHD stores the configuration and automatically displays it on power-up — no computer needs to remain connected, and the configuration survives power loss.
Yes. If you provide the details — graphic elements, sizes/diameters, colors, positions, and your video resolution — we can preconfigure the unit so it runs your design automatically at startup with no operator interaction required.
Yes, we can provide a CAD file or detailed drawing for mechanical integration — just reach out to our team and we’ll send it over.
Compliance & Sourcing
Yes. The country of origin is the United States, with final assembly and testing performed at our facility in California.
We sell direct and don’t use designated import agents. Our H.S. (Customs tariff) code is 8521.90.0000; customers around the world have imported the unit under this classification without issue.

Every PROTEUS-UHD ships with a power adapter, HDMI cable, USB microSD card reader, micro-USB and mini-USB cables, and a USB keyboard.
Our wire transfer fee covers the costs VideoLogix incurs on the receiving end — bank charges and administrative handling of incoming wires. It’s separate from any fee your own bank charges you to send the payment, and it’s applied consistently across wire-paid orders.
We price PROTEUS-UHD consistently across customers, and given current component costs we’re generally not able to extend additional discounts on top of list pricing. If you have a large order in mind, reach out to sales and we’re happy to discuss what we can do.
